The two teenage bikers who were involved in a Centurion accident on Friday night are undergoing surgery.
The two were riding a motorcycle when they collided with a vehicle in Valhalla around 22:30, according to paramedics.
A family friend of the two, Berta Seddon said the teens, Antonio Hechter(matric) and Kylan Kunzmann(Grade 10) suffered multiple injuries and had to be transported to Unitas and Kalafong hospitals respectively.
Antonio broke both his arms and doctors are concerned about his leg, she said.
“He is at the Kolofong hospital at the moment, doctors are concerned about his leg that was badly injured. He also cracked his ribs and broke his arms. Doctors are not ready to operate on him, they say he’s not stable enough, so we are waiting on that,” Seddon added.
She said Antonio’s family would need help to cover his medical expense at the Kalafong hospital.
Kylan sustained a pelvic fracture. She’s currently at the Unitas hospital where she just, moved out of ICU and into high care,” Seddon said.
She said the two were riding together in one motorbike when they crashed into a vehicle.
The Hoërskool Zwartkop pupils were riding home when the accident happened, Seddon added.
Community medical service CERT-SA spokesperson Ruan Heyns said the driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
