Morgan Bay Footprints Festival 2016
The quaint town of Morgan Bay will be hosting their annual, eco-friendly Footprints Festival on the weekend of 3-5 June 2016.
The aim of the festival is to put the Wild Coast village on the map, showcasing and celebrating the many facets of life that make Morgan Bay a South African town worth paying attention to. Attendees of the festivals will have their eye’s opened to its rich ecology, culture and heritage.
The residents of Morgan Bay laid the foundation of this ever-growing initiative, in which has involved itself in various community upliftment projects, including iXara Creche and the development of a recycling endeavour.
While the lineup has not yet been released, attendees can look forward to a jam-packed day ofactivities for the kids, trail and mountain bike races, open days at the Morganville Motorcycle Museum, art exhibitions and much more! There will also be live entertainment happening throughout the day, with blue’s singer, Kathy Raven entrancing the crowds with her soulful tunes. David Muller, a much-loved Cape Tonian actor, will also be putting in an appearance. Muller will be performing asHerman Charles’ imitable character, Oom Schalk Lourens.
If you like arts and market knickknackery, the Footprints Festival’s craft market is a must-see. Peruse through the stalls and purchase some memorabilia to remember the day by.
As there is a strong focus on reducing one’s carbon footprint, festival-goers are encouraged to choose an alternative mode of transport other than driving. So step out of your petrol guzzlers and explore the town’s many attractions by foot.
Come along for a weekend of family fun and learn more about this gem of a village!
