The Masango family in Khayelihle, Wesselton needs help.
The family of 17 are in desperate need to complete the half-done structure of their house.
Mr Johannes and Maria Masango and their five children and 10 grandchildren occupy a four-room shack at the back of their half-constructed house.
Their only source of income is the social grants of the children and Ms Masango’s salary which she gets from doing odd jobs and working at a shop in town.
“I used my pension money to build this house for my family because we could not continue living in a shack,” Mr Masango said.
The pensioner added that he was devastated when the builders stole from him and he is not physically and financially able to provide a good home for his wife, children and grandchildren.
The six-room house has been standing half-constructed for five years and with no sizable income, the building will remain half-done with just walls filled with hope of what could be.
The family appeals to anyone to assist with building materials and construction to complete their house.
“We beg anyone who can help us so we can bring back our dignity and be proud to call this house our own,” Ms Masango said.
Anyone who is willing to help the Masango family can contact the Highveld at 017 811 2221.
